Ok, here are my 5 tips for cutting down your time at the gym!
Plan ahead - If you know what you’re doing when you get there, you won’t have to worry about figuring it out. (Common sense!) If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Write down what you’ll be doing in a log or journal and as you go through the workout, write down the weight/whatever else you’re keeping track of.
Use Supersets/Dropsets/Circuits - These can cut down on training time considerably. The less rest you have between sets, the easier it will be to keep your heart rate up as well. This is called functional cardio! You’re getting a weight workout AND cardio all rolled into one by not resting much between exercises!
Avoid peak hours - Try to get to the gym at a time where it is less busy, that way you won’t have to wait around for the machines!
Get off your phone - If you’re serious about saving time, get off your phone. You can text AFTER. Not only does this slow your own workout down, it can be extremely annoying to the people around you who are ALSO trying to work out. Be courteous!
Stay focused - Try to avoid watching other people workout, messing with your iPod, and venturing to new parts of the gym. Save those activities for a day where you DO have time. Focus on your own workout and get it done! via
