How to master facial contouring

How to master facial contouring

Facial contouring:  It’s that thing you’ve seen all the A-listers do with their makeup, but you aren’t really sure how you are supposed to pull it off.

“A beautifully contoured cheekbone is everything in my opinion,” says makeup artist Joyce Bonelli, who is known for her amazing cheekbone work on Kim Kardashian and Nicki Minaj. She defines contouring as sculpting the face’s natural shadows to create shape and light.  “It will help to define the shape of your face and give you an overall polished look.”. | via

Makeup Magic: Lose Pounds in Minutes with Highlighting and Contouring!

Makeup Magic: Lose Pounds in Minutes with Highlighting and Contouring!

There are tons of variations and methods to highlighting and contouring with makeup, but the basic principles are the same. Contouring adds shadows to recessed areas we want to push back or minimize where highlighting pops out the areas we want to accentuate and bring forward. How-To: Contour and Highlight ( Featuring Luxe Liquid Bright Concealer )

Highlighting and contouring has been a popular topic in the beauty industry. From celebrities to Youtube stars, everyone seems to have tips and tricks for creating the perfectly highlighted and contoured face. With the launch of Luxe Liquid Bright Concealers we thought it was time for a step-by-step guide on contouring and highlighting featuring our lovely National Educator, Janeena Billera.

How-To: Contour and Highlight ( Featuring Luxe Liquid Bright Concealer )

Use this photo as a guide but before you start you will need to find the shades that work for your skin tone. We recommend picking three different shades: a contour color, a light highlight color and a medium highlight/ transitional color. The contour color should be two shades darker than your natural complexion, the lightest highlight should be two shades lighter than your natural skintone and the transitional/ highlight product should be one shade lighter than your natural skintone. | via

What Your Acne Is Trying to Tell You About Your Health

What Your Acne Is Trying to Tell You About Your Health

There is a plethora of products out there aimed as banishing breakouts. But getting rid of acne isn’t always as easy as using a killer spot treatment or changing up your skincare regimen. Sometimes, acne is caused by an internal problem and will only clear up after that problem is fixed. The best example of this is stubborn hormonal acne; however, there are actually quite a few internal health issues that can manifest themselves as blemishes.According to some alternative medicine practices, where your acne shows up can give you important clues about your internal health. The practice, called “face mapping,” examines the location of skin diseases on the face to diagnose internal diseases. “It is based on Ayurveda practices and ancient Chinese medicine, and its principles have started to be integrated into some Western medical practices,” explained Dr. Michael Shapiro, board-certified dermatologist and Medical Director and Founder of Vanguard Dermatology. | via
