Bright Summer Lips + Daytime Smoky Eye.

Bright Summer Lips + Daytime Smoky Eye.

If you haven’t introduced yourself to the Moxie Line from Bare Minerals, you’re missing out on some great colors for summer! Last week I found out I was the winner of their Moxie Up Blogger Challenge—which means you’ll be seeing a few more Moxie looks in the future. They sent me the above lipstick shade (Never Say Never, $18) a few months ago, and I haven’t stopped wearing it. I even picked it for my most recent head shots (taken by my friend Laura), so I thought I’d share the look.

1. One Love Organics Skin Savior ($68.00)- The most important product on my vanity. I live for this stuff. And you won’t believe the smooth base it provides under your mineral powder—it’s a moisturizer and all-day primer in one!

2. Bare Minerals Rose Radiance ($19.00)- Since the lip is bright, I chose a radiance instead of a blush. Radiance provides a hint of color with a healthy glow.

3. Moxie Liner in Jazzed ($16.00)- Normally I skip liner—-but this stuff really stays put and I love the rubber grip for extra control during application.

4. Moxie Lipstick in Never Say Never ($18.00)- A bright, berry-inspired pink that wears well and doesn’t get dry.

5. Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Liner Brush ($26.00)- If you’re using a gel liner make sure you invest in a good brush. This is a long-time favorite.

6.  Bobbie Brown Gel Liner ($23.00)- Tight light your eyes using this gel liner. Tight lining means you line between your lashes and your eye…instead of between your lashes and your brow.

7. Bare Minerals Vanilla Sugar Eye Shadow ($14.00)- Apply from lashes to brow for a neutral base using a Soft Focus Shadow Brush ($9.50).

8. Bare Minerals Knob Hill Eye Shadow ($14.00)- Apply this in the outer corner of your lid using a Crease Defining Brush for a light smoky effect ($18.00).

NARS Audacious Lipstick

NARS Audacious Lipstick

Move over Mr. and Mrs. Brangelina. The big news of the week is the launch of NARS The Audacious Lipstick Collection. Founder and Creative Director François Nars launched his namesake brand 12 shades. Now, in celebration of its 20th Anniversary, NARS is paying tribute with 40 pigment-rich, super-intense shades. In typical NARS fashion, they are all major in their own way. I am waiting to get my hands on a few tubes which I hear have also been updated with matte-black metallic cases (no more greasy finger prints!) and those awesome magnetic closures that make a satisfying click when you close them. Another pretty birdy (who may or may not have camped out at the mall for this blessed event) told me that while the colors are vibrant the formula is weightless and smooth.
